Dr. Giulia Suro, Ph.D., CEDS, is a psychologist, author, and Senior Director of Research and Clinical Outcomes at Monte Nido. Her work has been featured in Slate, Teen Vogue, and Psychology Today, and she has published extensively in leading journals including the International Journal of Eating Disorders, European Eating Disorders Review, and Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention. She is the author of Learning to Thrive, the first Acceptance and Commitment Therapy workbook written for the general public, and is currently writing her second book, The Weight of Pain, forthcoming in Spring 2027.
This one-hour presentation will introduce Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-based approach that extends and complements traditional cognitive behavioral therapy. Attendees will explore the six core processes of ACT—acceptance, cognitive defusion, present-moment awareness, self-as-context, values clarification, and committed action—and how they promote psychological flexibility.
